Are you feeling frustrated with the people in your life? Are you unsure if it’s them or if it’s you that needs to change?

You may be over-functioning, doing more and more for others with less and less time and resources for yourself or you may be questioning if you are doing enough and doubting yourself. Perhaps you’re just feeling worn out, frazzled or hopeless.

Whatever it is that you’re experiencing, you’re beginning to notice the impact of this in every facet of your life:

    • Spending too much time distracting yourself (social media, endless to-do lists, too many glasses of wine)
    • Feeling disconnected and lonely, even when others are around
    • Doubting and questioning your self (your inner critic is running the show)
    • Feeling like your last nerve is about to blow
    • Wondering if there isn’t more to life than this

Individual Counselling can help!

You can get back on track and find more meaning and satisfaction in your life and your relationships. You can feel empowered to make changes to live your best life. I can help you do that.

Individual counselling helps you do 4 things:

    • Gain insight into yourself and your relationships, often times those tricky things from childhood are still playing out today
    • Understand your nervous system and how to care for it
    • Find more compassion and acceptance for yourself and others
    • Learn strategies to live your best life (healthy relationships are key)

I will help you through this process based on your unique situation and needs. My approach is relational and compassionate: helping you to understand yourself and your relationships to take the next steps to live your best life.

It’s time to put yourself first! (that’s a good thing for everybody, trust me)

I can help you get there.

Frequently Asked Questions

There’s a lot of counsellors to pick from, how do I know who would be the best fit?

It’s not an easy decision to make. Start with doing your research. Read counsellor websites or social media posts, you should get a sense of who they are and how they practice. Ask friends or family or professionals if they have any recommendations. I always welcome a quick phone call to get to know each other and answer any questions you may have. In the end, listen to your intuition. If it’s not a fit with me, I can make referrals to other great counsellors in our community.

How do I know if individual or couples counselling is a better fit?

  1. If your partner is not willing to attend couples counselling, then attend Individually. You can influence and change your relationship or change your relationship with the relationship.
  2. If you feel like you need your own space to explore and work on your own goals, then individual is for you. You can always do couples counselling later on, I can help with referrals.
  3. If you have a hard time making yourself a priority, you might want to start with individual.

The thought of counselling makes me nervous, how do I cope with that?

It’s common to feel nervous or anxious before your first session, especially if this is your first time attending counselling. It makes sense, as you’re going to meet someone new to talk about things that aren’t always that comfortable to talk about. Talk to that part of yourself that feels nervous and offer some reassurance and encouragement. You can do this and I will meet you here. There is no pressure for first sessions, there is no right or wrong way for it to go and it’s my job to help you feel comfortable once you get here.

How do I get started?

We can have a quick chat over the phone, or you can email me or book directly online. Once your appointment is booked, you will receive some paperwork to complete before your first session. This paper gives me a bit of information about you and goes over consent for counselling, so you know what to expect from me.
